barrels of doooooom

WTF???: Okay, so instead of studying for exams, I took a break and started looking through some old conversations with Lauren. One of the main things we do together is that we write stories. Basically we start with a topic or photograph and just improve it. Because our styles are so different, these turn out a little crazy. Neither of us know where the heck the story's going, and usually I try to make it into an adventure/sci fi story and she tries to turn it into a romance novel. We fight with the characters, and it's pretty funny. So read, laugh, scratch your head, shake your head and wonder what the heck we're on. If people give me enough feedback, we might continue the story.

2 photos. One of the Katrina storm, the other of empty subway barrels (?) strunned across a field. I'm in blue, Lauren is in green. This is an MSN conversation:

i thought it was really cool

ok

Katherine are you ready?

here, I got something with the barrels in mind

shoot

and the storm

ok

It was a brisk, cool, yet stormy October morning as 17 year old Christina stood on the edge of a cliff, looking down at some barrels that came from polluters who were disguised as elephant poachers.

she was confused, why did they want to dress this way, didn't they know that poaching was illegal?

then, without her knowledge, one of them snuck up from behind her, his footsteps hushed by the distant rolling of thunder and winds.

he slipped his hand around her neck and whispered into her ear

what did he say Kat?

tell me

Just a sec.

I will tell you.

follow me if you want to live. You are in danger. the worlds are breaking.

Can't you see, the storm lines the edge of eternity. It cracks as we speak.

The storm rising above them was omnipotent to the greatest degree. They called it
the death storm, and it brew for weeks and weeks without dropping a speck of water, just swirling and bidding it's time waiting for a master.

It was like a ferocious beast, coming to claim them all. There had been talk in the villages that it was a sign of the end of times, but did she believe it? Not until this man had spoken.

It was like a veil had been pulled from her eyes. The storm was deeper, darker, with ridges and folds that whispered the man was right.
she twirled around and broke his grasp to face him.

"who are you to feed me such lies?"

"that storm is nothing more than the winds stirring out from the east!"

"take your grasping little paws off of me, before I use my karate of doom!!!"

but was it?

(it wasn’t?)

(no, your right, it was the fate looming down upon them)
It couldn't be true! She denied the world's whispers

(she did)

and when she tried to use force to break the man's grasp she had forgotten she had on her wranglers, her legs, bound by this cheap denim, couldn't make it 2 feet off the ground

she cursed, and the man seized her and dragged her screaming down the hill towards the barrels

and noticed how beautiful the young man's eyes were. Like swirling bowls of blue apocalypse

she couldn't help but to be entranced

he threw her onto the ground.
it lulled her harsh movements into a sedative state

the horror!

what did she do?

she kicked him in the gut with what little movement she had and scrambled to her feet, backing away quickly.

were the clouds growing wider?

half cursing, half crying, she struggled to her feet, covered in pondered earth. When she was a good ten feet away she looked up and behind the young man and saw the cloud beginning to pancake out like oil fallen onto water. There was a split from between the clouds. Like mirrored waterfalls the sky continued to fall upon an invisible glass, protecting the world around her from it's torment. She spell bound and frazzled, she noticed the man was staring not upon the anomaly of the sky, but at her; woebegone. He reached out for her hand.

"Come-on!" He yelled above the sound of the storm's glory. "We haven't the time!"

*gasp*

She gaped at him, refusing to believe what her eyes or the man were telling her. In shock she stumbled towards him, slowly and stood a foot away, not sure what to do.

He grabbed her hand and dashed downhill towards the empty jars

her heart raced with every continuing footstep she was forced to endure, yet somehow she managed to suck the adventure stirring in the air, and let it course through her lungs and pass into her blood

her eyes became dilated with the sheer thrill of the unknown

as they came to barrels, all strewn about along the rocky earth, the strange man began to speak once more...

Christiana, enthralled with the sound his voice made against the rising wind, clung to his shirt and cocked her ear closer, daring not to miss a syllable of his spoken splendor

" we must not linger, these barrels contain the very essence we need to stay alive, please listen to my instructions very carefully!"

what happens next?

Kat will tell us

but the words were whipped from him. He slammed her against the ground on top of her, and yelled at her to clutch a jar. She groped for it around her, touched it and....

(20 minutes pass in the conversation...)

and....

sat up in a stagment air. Cadidids cackled in the distance and the sun bore down upon her head. She broke out into a sweat and looked to the sky. An untouched marble blue. She looked down into the jar's cool liquid and saw not her own reflection, but a world tormented by a raging storm. Her world. Then where was......?

"Hey you can't sit there on the ground all day, we've got work to do."
The stranger was leaning in behind her. "We have to move. No time to lolly gag staring into jars."

I know there are grammer and spelling mistakes, but it was an improve story...

nice, very nice. I would say somthing funny or atleast random but I don't have anything good to say. Personaly I like the polluters dressed up as elephant hunters. Yes I said hunters insted of the other word because quite frankly I can't spell it at all! Well, thats all I have to say sis. and just stick a witty or funny saying here like 'very funny scotty now beam down my clothes' or 'Don't run into a wall with sciccors in your mouth, that would be bad.' later!
